Why does the light blue tube go before the red?

Great question, this one trips everybody up! Light blue has citrate, an anticoagulant, and it needs a clean draw so nothing contaminates it. Red is a clot tube, so if it went first, clot activator could carry over and throw off coagulation results. 📍 Covered in: Order of Draw
